Boulder High will play #3 seed Liberty High School at Liberty High School (Colorado Springs) on Tuesday, November 3 for the second round of the Colorado State Playoffs. Game time will be announced on Monday. The Panthers will be looking to make their first trip to the third round of the Colorado State Playoffs.
The match up will feature Liberty, with one of the top defenses in Colorado versus the high scoring Panthers, who hope to continue to add to their record setting run of most goals scored in a single season (67). The former record of 59 goals in a season was set in 1991.
In first round action, the Panthers defeated Littleton High School 2-0 on Saturday, October 31 at Recht Stadium. Walter Bertini scored both goals while assisted by fellow seniors Max Jaffee (2) and Spencer Sarson (1). Littleton High School was stiffled by the Panther defense that allowed only 4 shots all game. Seniors Max Jaffee, Andrew Flint, Eddy Segovia and junior Cody Vann protected senior goalkeeper Garrett Spenst who record the shutout. In the second half, BHS controlled the game with good possession play throughout the midfield by seniors Angel Valle, Patrick Linsday and junior Brook Assefa and sophomore standout Jack Huettel.
