The 2011 Boulder High Soccer team finished the regular season as the league Runner-Up and the #8 seed in the 5A State Playoffs. The 2nd Place finish was only the third time in 31 years that the Panthers finished 2nd or higher in league play. Strong defensive play and some critical wins against playoff bound league rivals Fossil Ridge, Fort Collins and Rocky Mountain were enough down the stretch to secure Boulder with a record 6 straight playoff appearances. The team allowed just .70 goals against a game, the second fewest goals allowed in the history of the program.
The Panthers hosted Grandview in the first round but where up able to score a few chances in each half, allowing Grandview to stay in the game. Grandview scored late in the second half on a well finished corner kick and ultimately won the game 1-0.
A terrific group of Seniors will be missed and a core group of freshmen, sophomores and juniors return next fall with valuable experience and determination to continue the Boulder High School tradition of Boys Soccer excellence on and off the field.
